21 Sep Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game – Week 2
In the early 90’s, there was a game that captured the hearts and minds of football fans…Tecmo Super Bowl. Real players, stats, and simple controls. It was mind-blowing. In the game, there was one player who ruled them all, and that player was Bo Jackson (sorry QB Eagles). He was unstoppable, zig-zagging his way up and down the field to another touchdown with utter ease. So in honor of the immortal Tecmo Bo Jackson, Green + Gold Life will be honoring a player every week who dominated the game in the same way Tecmo Bo did with the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award.
And the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award for Week 2 goes to…
Just like last week, who saw this coming?!?! One would be tempted to give the prestigious award to Aaron Rodgers for his surgical precision and pocket elusiveness all game long. I’m sure he’ll rack up his fair share Tecmo Bo Jacksons over the season. But it was Elliott who made not one, but two, critical, game-changing plays that gave the Packers sweet revenge against the Seahawks. His interception on the screen pass was a thing of beauty, a “did that really just happen” kinda play when it felt Seattle would for sure go down and tie the game. And his forced fumble was the dagger, the moment when Packers fans could finally exhale and celebrate the long awaited victory over the Seahawks. Here’s what the Claymaker had to say about Elliott’s performance…”To go in there and get that pick — the biggest play of the game — and that strip at the end to seal it was huge. Those are huge plays that wee needed on defense. I think coming in here, if you were to ask who was going ot make those plays, I don’t think anyone would have said Jayrone.” Congratulations Jayrone on winning the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award for Week 2!
