06 Oct Tecmo Bo Jackson Player Of The Game – Week 4
In the early 90’s, there was a game that captured the hearts and minds of football fans…Tecmo Super Bowl. Real players, stats, and simple controls. It was mind-blowing. In the game, there was one player who ruled them all, and that player was Bo Jackson (sorry QB Eagles). He was unstoppable, zig-zagging his way up and down the field to another touchdown with utter ease. So in honor of the immortal Tecmo Bo Jackson, Green + Gold Life will be honoring a player every week who dominated the game in the same way Tecmo Bo did with the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award.
And the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award for Week 4 goes to…
Shouting “You ain’t Russell Wilson, bro!” to Colin Kaepernick and mimicking the what-the-hell-happened-to-him QB’s trademarked bicep kiss after a sack are two pretty good reasons for The Claymaker to be the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game, but it was his outstanding dominance from sideline to sideline that really gave him the nod. How good was he? Even the much reserved and critical Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel offered high praise with “Clay Matthews needs no excuse to play inspired football, but even by his standards this performance was outstanding.” His transition from dominant OLB to dominant ILB seems to have been completed, and a position that was a cause for serious concern for the Packers has now been solidified with a future Pro Bowler. Congrats to The Claymaker on your first Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award!
