29 Sep Tecmo Bo Jackson Player Of The Game – Week 3
In the early 90’s, there was a game that captured the hearts and minds of football fans…Tecmo Super Bowl. Real players, stats, and simple controls. It was mind-blowing. In the game, there was one player who ruled them all, and that player was Bo Jackson (sorry QB Eagles). He was unstoppable, zig-zagging his way up and down the field to another touchdown with utter ease. So in honor of the immortal Tecmo Bo Jackson, Green + Gold Life will be honoring a player every week who dominated the game in the same way Tecmo Bo did with the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award.
And the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award for Week 3 goes to…
Wow. That’s all you can really say. I think NFL. com’s Chris Wesseling summed up Aaron Rodger’s performance best…
“Channeling an early 1990s Michael Jordan, Rodgers has raised his game to an even higher level this season, playing with an unshakeable confidence that allows him to envision possibilities and interrogate limits that other quarterbacks don’t even think to explore. Already a master craftsman possessing the position’s most gifted and varied toolbox, Rodgers has added an especially dangerous element byalmost reliably forcing defensive penalties through hard counts (offsides) and quick snaps (12 men on the field). Beyond coaxing the penalties, he has shown the awareness to go for broke with lethal downfield strikes on those free plays.
Witnessing the rare ability to transcend human limitations inspires unbridled joy. Carve out time in your schedule to watch as many Packers games as possible this year. We might never see professional sports’ most important position performed at a higher level.”
