Tecmo Bo Jackson Player Of The Game – Week 5

Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game

In the early 90’s, there was a game that captured the hearts and minds of football fans…Tecmo Super Bowl.  Real players, stats, and simple controls.  It was mind-blowing.  In the game, there was one player who ruled them all, and that player was Bo Jackson (sorry QB Eagles).  He was unstoppable, zig-zagging his way up and down the field to another touchdown with utter ease.  So in honor of the immortal Tecmo Bo Jackson, Green + Gold Life will be honoring a player every week who dominated the game in the same way Tecmo Bo did with the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award.

And the Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game award for Week 5 goes to…

Quinten Rollins

It’s been quite a meteoric rise for Rollins.  In two years, he has gone from Miami (Ohio) University Redhawk Point Guard, to MAC Defensive Player of the Year in his only college football season, to 2nd Round draft pick, to now winning the prestigious Tecmo Bo Jackson Player of the Game for Week 5.  How impressive was his performance?  His two interception tally was the first time a Green Bay Packers rookie has accomplished that feat in over 13 years.  13 years!  Here’s a quote from Rollins’ about his progress…

“People probably thought I was going to develop a little slower than I have, but I’m up to speed.  I’m a fast learner. So it’s just about getting better from here on out, and that’s what I plan on doing.”

We look forward to seeing you “getting better” Quinten.  Perhaps a four interception performance is in your future. 😉
